BPS Removes 11,014 People from Social Assistance Recipients for Kemensos PKH and BPNT Programmes

The Head of the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), Amalia Adininggar, explained that 11,014 people have been removed from the recipients of social assistance (bansos) under the Ministry of Social Affairs’ (Kemensos) Programme Keluarga Harapan (PKH) and Non-Cash Food Assistance (BPNT). The reason is that BPS found members of the public receiving the assistance who, upon review, do not require it. “We have cleaned up members of the public who were previously receiving bansos; we reviewed them and found they are people who should not receive bansos, or around 11,014 people have been removed,” Amalia clarified, as quoted from Kompas.com on Monday (13/4/2026). This number includes data errors where capable groups were mistakenly included as beneficiaries. “There were around 1,551 people from outside who were in deciles five to 10. This has become part of the inclusion error in that 11,014,” Amalia explained. Prior to this, the public can check their status as recipients of PKH and BPNT bansos for April 2026 online.
