Indonesian Hajj pilgrims have received all services provided with great satisfaction.

Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) has released the results of the Indonesian Hajj Service Satisfaction Index (IKLHI) for the year 1447 Hijriah/2026 CE, which was recorded at 83.28 points, an increase from the previous year’s 81.46 points.

“The IKLHI for 2026 reached 83.28 points, an increase compared with 2025,” said BPS Head Amalia Adininggar Widyasanti at the BPS building in Jakarta on Thursday.

The IKLHI measurement is a new methodology applied by BPS that measures the quality of Hajj pilgrimage organisation more comprehensively starting from 2026.

Amalia said the methodology refinement was carried out to replace the Indonesian Hajj Pilgrim Satisfaction Index (IKJHI) that had been used previously.

“Starting from 2026, BPS has refined the calculation method from IKJHI to IKLHI,” she said.

Through the IKLHI, BPS measures services more thoroughly, covering services at home and abroad, assessing both the process and the outcome of services, and aligning indicators with the latest regulations on Hajj pilgrimage organisation.

The scope of domestic services includes Hajj officer services, worship services, transport to the airport, embarkation accommodation, consumption, administration, finance, and health services.

Meanwhile, overseas services cover officer services, worship in Saudi Arabia, transport, hotel and tent accommodation, consumption, and health services, which for the first time became a separate assessment dimension.

“Indonesian Hajj pilgrims have received all services provided with great satisfaction,” she said.

Amalia explained that the 2026 IKLHI survey was conducted on 14,400 respondents, consisting of 1,600 people for measuring domestic services and 6,400 each for the first and second waves of Hajj pilgrims for services in Saudi Arabia.

Based on observation points, airports were the location with the highest satisfaction level at 84.76 points, followed by Makkah at 82.59 points and Madinah at 82.53 points. The Arafah, Muzdalifah and Mina (Armuzna) area received a score of 79.70 points, the lowest compared with other locations, although it still showed improvement compared with the previous year.

Specifically in Armuzna, Amalia said all service categories experienced improvement compared with 2025. The largest increase occurred in consumption services, which rose 4.85 points to 81.16 points, followed by transport, which increased 4.03 points.

Meanwhile, Hajj officer services reached 81.91 points, health services 81.51 points, worship services 80.46 points, and accommodation services increased slightly to 0.68 points higher than the previous year.

She assessed that these results indicate an improvement in service quality during the peak phase of Hajj pilgrimage organisation, especially in the consumption and transport aspects directly experienced by pilgrims.
