BPS Records Indonesia's Trade Balance Surplus of US$3.32 Billion in March 2026

Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) recorded Indonesia’s trade balance for March 2026 with a surplus of US$3.32 billion, comprising exports of US$22.53 billion and imports of US$19.21 billion. Deputy for Distribution and Services Statistics at BPS, Ateng Hartono, stated during the Official BPS Statistics News Release in Jakarta on Monday that cumulatively from January to March 2026, Indonesia achieved a surplus of US$5.55 billion, with exports totalling US$66.85 billion and imports US$61.30 billion. He explained that exports during this period were supported by key commodities such as iron and steel, CPO and its derivatives, and coal, which contributed 28.53% to the total cumulative non-oil and gas exports from January to March 2026. Meanwhile, imports were dominated by auxiliary raw materials amounting to US$43.17 billion, capital goods at US$12.98 billion, and consumer goods at US$5.15 billion.
