The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) recorded the national farmers’ exchange rate (NTP) at 127.84 in July 2026.

Deputy for Distribution and Services Statistics at BPS, Ateng Hartono, stated in Jakarta on Monday that this figure represents a slight increase of 0.15 percent compared to the previous month.

“The increase in NTP occurred because the index of prices received by farmers fell by 0.1 percent, while the index of prices paid by farmers experienced a deeper decline of 0.25 percent,” Ateng said.

The rise in the July 2026 NTP was also supported by improvements in the food crops subsector, which rose 1.32 percent month-to-month, the smallholder plantation crops subsector, up 1.67 percent, and the fisheries subsector, which increased by 1.01 percent.

However, BPS noted that the NTP for the horticulture and livestock subsectors experienced monthly declines of 8.49 percent and 0.57 percent, respectively.

BPS also recorded that the index of prices received by farmers (lt) in July 2026 stood at 163.80, a decrease of 0.10 percent compared to the previous month. Ateng explained that commodities contributing to the decline in the index of prices received by farmers included cayenne pepper, shallots, tomatoes, and red chillies.

Meanwhile, the index of prices paid by farmers (lb) fell by 0.25 percent to 128.13, with commodities contributing to the decline including shallots, cayenne pepper, purebred chicken eggs, and red chillies.
