The national Farmer’s Exchange Rate (NTP) in June 2026 was recorded at 127.65, a decrease of 0.06 percent compared to May 2026. The decline occurred because the index of prices received by farmers (It) rose by 0.49 percent, which was lower than the 0.55 percent increase in the index of prices paid by farmers (Ib). Commodities that dominantly influenced the increase in the national index of prices received by farmers included rubber, unhusked rice, shallots, and maize. Meanwhile, commodities that dominantly influenced the increase in the index of prices paid by farmers included shallots, petrol, garlic, and rice. Based on NTP sub-sectors, only the food crops sub-sector (NTPP) experienced an increase, rising by 0.75 percent. The remaining sub-sectors recorded declines: horticulture (NTPH) fell 0.42 percent, smallholder plantation crops (NTPR) fell 0.42 percent, livestock (NTPT) fell 1.85 percent, fisheries (NTNP) fell 0.21 percent, capture fisheries (NTPR) fell 0.01 percent, and aquaculture (NTPi) fell 0.53 percent. BPS also reported that the average price of rice at the mill level in June 2026 increased by 0.97 percent month-to-month (mtm) and by 6.96 percent year-on-year (yoy). At the wholesale level, rice inflation was recorded at 0.82 percent monthly and 5.12 percent annually, while at the retail level, inflation was 0.45 percent monthly and 3.98 percent annually.
