BPS Records DIY Export Value Reaching US$206.8 Million up to April 2026

The Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) for the Special Region of Yogyakarta has recorded that the province’s export value from January to April 2026 reached US$206.8 million, representing a 17.54 per cent increase compared to the US$175.9 million recorded during the same period in 2025.

“This growth was almost entirely contributed by the manufacturing sector, which accounted for 99.06 per cent of DIY’s total exports,” stated the Acting Head of BPS DIY, Endang Tri Wahyuningsih, in a statement in Yogyakarta on Thursday.

On a monthly basis, the export value of products from the DIY province in April 2026 reached US$68.86 million, an increase of 77.33 per cent compared to April 2025. This surge in export value was primarily driven by the growth of the manufacturing sector, which expanded by 76.35 per cent year-on-year.

She noted that DIY’s export commodities continue to be dominated by manufactured products. From January to April, non-knitted apparel and accessories served as the primary commodity, contributing 30.93 per cent to the total exports. Other significant commodities included knitted apparel and accessories, plastics and plastic goods, tanned leather goods, as well as furniture, lamps, and lighting equipment.

In terms of destination markets, the United States remains the primary export destination for DIY, with a value reaching US$91.05 million, accounting for 44.02 per cent of total exports.
