BPS Records 9,401 BPJS PBI JK Participants Whose Whereabouts Are Unknown
JAKARTA - The Head of the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), Amalia Adininggar Widyasanti, stated that 9,401 participants in the Premium Assistance Recipients for Health Insurance (PBI JK) programme have unknown whereabouts.
This was revealed after BPS, together with the Ministry of Social Affairs (Kemensos), conducted direct checks or ground checks on more than 100,000 PBI JK participants.
“Then there are around 9,401 that we have not yet found; we are continuing to track their whereabouts from a total of 106,153 individuals (PBI JK participants who have been ground checked),” said Amalia during a press conference at the Kemensos office in Central Jakarta on Wednesday (1/4/2026).
It is possible, according to Gus Ipul, that they have changed hospitals or moved addresses, thus requiring time to locate them.
“Tomorrow, God willing, the team will head to BPJS Kesehatan to confirm that these 9,401 may have changed hospitals or locations that need to be verified,” he said.
From the data of 106,153 PBI JK participants who have been ground checked, 89,559 of them are confirmed to suffer from catastrophic diseases, and 3,934 participants have been declared deceased.
Catastrophic patients who have been confirmed to match the data can now continue their treatment.
“All of them have been automatically reactivated, so there are no issues, and treatment can continue in the following months; it’s all clear,” he added.
Meanwhile, for PBI JK participants who have passed away, their memberships will be automatically removed and allocated to new beneficiaries.
