BPS Praises Bali's Economic Census Progress, Urges Greater Focus on Denpasar

Denpasar (ANTARA) - Statistics Indonesia (BPS) has praised the achievements of the 2026 Economic Census (SE) in Bali, where progress has reached 43.35 percent, surpassing the national average of 42.75 percent.

“For Bali, the average today is 43.35 percent. Looking at each regency/city, the highest is Buleleng Regency at almost 55 percent,” said BPS chief Amalia Adininggar Widyasanti in Denpasar on Saturday.

According to her, this achievement as of early July 2026 places Bali among the top ranks in terms of percentage progress in the 2026 Economic Census, while the lowest figures are in Highland Papua and other Papua regions.

Upon closer examination, Amalia noted that several regencies and cities remain below that average, including Denpasar City, prompting her to request greater attention from the regional government.

Amalia said Denpasar’s progress in the 2026 Economic Census is the lowest in Bali at 31.38 percent, followed by Gianyar at 32.27 percent, Badung at 36.65 percent, Bangli at 46.22 percent, Klungkung at 46.27 percent, Jembrana at 47.05 percent, Tabanan at 47.96 percent, Karangasem at 51.07 percent, and Buleleng at 54.95 percent.

Regarding Denpasar City, BPS is inviting the regional government to help oversee the census process, including through a dashboard enabling intervention down to the district level.

“We have also granted special access rights to regional heads, so they can monitor the census progress in their regions. This means the Governor can also monitor, and we can track where the field officers are, using real-time tracking,” Amalia said.
