The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) has officially released the Indonesian Hajj Service Satisfaction Index (IKLHI) for 2026, as a measure for assessing satisfaction with hajj services. This new index is a refinement of the Indonesian Hajj Pilgrim Satisfaction Index (IKJHI) used in previous years. Head of BPS Amalia Adininggar Widyasanti stated that the overall IKLHI score for 2026, which serves as the initial benchmark, reached 83.28. According to her, the IKLHI score achieved in 2026 falls into the satisfactory category. The IKLHI value comprises an overseas service index score of 82.71 and a domestic service index score of 83.85. The 2026 overseas service index score improved from the previous year’s 81.46, continuing an upward trend over the last three years. Based on BPS data, observation points at airports recorded a satisfaction level of 84.76, the highest among all observation points in terms of both output and process. Meanwhile, observation points in Armuzna recorded the lowest index, with the lowest satisfaction level for tent services, although all services in the Armuzna area experienced an increase. For overseas services, the highest satisfaction by service type was achieved by transportation services, with a score of 83.13. When assessed by embarkation point, all domestic embarkations showed varying satisfaction levels ranging from 78.67 to 85.20. Embarkations with satisfaction levels above the overseas IKLHI average included Banda Aceh (85.20), Makassar (84.09), Balikpapan (83.72), Palembang (83.38), Batam (83.38), Surabaya (83.33), and Yogyakarta (83.04). On the domestic front, the IKLHI score for 2026 was 83.85, with bus transportation services to the airport recording the highest satisfaction level at 85.67 in terms of both output and process. Meanwhile, administrative, financial, and hajj health services recorded the lowest satisfaction level at 82.74. Domestic IKLHI assessments by embarkation showed satisfaction levels varying between 81.61 and 87.80. Ten embarkations scored above the average, namely Lombok (87.80), Yogyakarta (87.18), Palembang (86.65), Medan (85.24), Jakarta - Pondok Gede (84.70), Banda Aceh (84.41), Surabaya (84.29), Jakarta - Cipondoh (84.08), Makassar (83.95), and Batam (83.88). The survey sample allocation forming the IKLHI consisted of 14,400 hajj pilgrims, comprising 1,600 samples conducted domestically, 6,400 from overseas wave 1, and 6,400 from overseas wave 2.
