Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Indonesian Central Statistics Agency (BPS) stated that the commemoration of National Statistics Day (HSN), which falls on 26 September, serves as a reminder of the importance of data for national development.

“More than just commemorating a date, HSN is a momentum to reaffirm the collective awareness of the importance of statistical data for the nation’s development,” said the Head of BPS, Amalia Adininggar Widyasanti, during the 2026 HSN commemoration and the 2026 BPS Awards Night in Jakarta on Saturday.

Amalia noted that statistical data is integral to every aspect of development, making its presence essential for all relevant stakeholders and the general public.

“Statistical data is present in every aspect of development. Therefore, National Statistics Day belongs to all of us, not just to BPS,” she said.

She expressed hope that HSN 2026 would also serve as a momentum to strengthen synergy with relevant stakeholders to achieve measurable and high-quality national development.

“Let us make HSN 2026 a collective step to strengthen collaboration for statistics that are increasingly high-quality, meaningful, and impactful,” Amalia added.
