BPS Guarantees Data Security, Pramono Urges Jakartans to Support 2026 Economic Census

Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung, together with the Head of Statistics Indonesia (BPS) Amalia Adininggar Widyasanti, has launched the 2026 Economic Census in DKI Jakarta Province. Pramono assessed that the census will serve as a crucial foundation for formulating more targeted economic policies, as it will produce the latest data on business activities in the capital. He stated that the results of the 2026 Economic Census will be an important reference for the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government in comprehensively understanding the community’s economic conditions. Therefore, he hopes that all collected data will be of high quality, transparent, and reflect the real situation on the ground. “We hope the data produced is quality data, transparent, and truly describes the economic conditions of the people of Jakarta,” Pramono said at Jakarta City Hall on Monday (13/7). He also invited all Jakarta residents to actively participate by providing accurate information when visited by census officers. “We ask and hope that Jakarta residents will convey the actual conditions asked about in the census so that the results are truly accurate,” he said. Meanwhile, Head of BPS RI Amalia Adininggar Widyasanti stated that the Economic Census is a national agenda conducted every 10 years. She said this year’s census is an important momentum to obtain the latest economic data covering all business actors without exception. “Because the census is conducted comprehensively, the data produced will be the most up-to-date and complete economic data,” said Amalia. She stressed that the success of the census heavily depends on public participation. Therefore, BPS urges residents to welcome census officers, fill in data correctly, and not worry about the security of the information provided. Amalia assured that all respondent data is kept confidential in accordance with applicable regulations. To strengthen the security system, BPS has collaborated with the National Cyber and Crypto Agency (BSSN), Telkom, and Peruri in securing the data storage infrastructure. “Data confidentiality is guaranteed. We have also collaborated with BSSN, Telkom, and Peruri to ensure the security of data stored on BPS servers,” she said. According to Amalia, the results of the 2026 Economic Census will later become the government’s basis for formulating more precise economic policies, as they are compiled based on complete, up-to-date, and accountable data. “Ultimately, this data will return to the community through more targeted and data-driven economic policies,” she said.
