BPS Guarantees Data Security, Pramono Urges Jakartans to Support 2026 Economic Census
DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung, together with the Head of Statistics Indonesia (BPS), Amalia Adininggar Widyasanti, launched the implementation of the 2026 Economic Census in DKI Jakarta Province. Pramono regarded the census as an important foundation for formulating more targeted economic policies, as it produces up-to-date data on business activities in the capital.
He said the results of the 2026 Economic Census will serve as an important reference for the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government in comprehensively understanding the economic conditions of its people. He therefore hopes that all the data collected will genuinely be of high quality, transparent, and reflect actual conditions on the ground.
“We hope the data produced will be of high quality, transparent, and truly depict the economic conditions of Jakarta’s people,” said Pramono at Jakarta City Hall on Monday (13 July).
He also invited all Jakarta residents to participate actively by providing information that corresponds to actual conditions when census officers visit. “We ask and hope that Jakarta residents convey the actual conditions asked about in the census so that the results are truly accurate,” he said.
Meanwhile, BPS Chief Amalia Adininggar Widyasanti said the Economic Census is a national agenda carried out once every ten years. According to her, this year’s census is an important momentum for obtaining the latest economic data covering all business actors without exception.
“Because the census is conducted comprehensively, the data produced will be the most up-to-date and complete economic data,” said Amalia.
She stressed that the success of the census depends heavily on public participation. BPS therefore urges residents to receive census officers, fill in data correctly, and not worry about the security of the information they provide.
Amalia assured that all respondents’ data is kept confidential in accordance with prevailing regulations. To strengthen the security system, BPS has partnered with the National Cyber and Crypto Agency (BSSN), Telkom, and PT Peruri to secure data storage infrastructure.
“Data confidentiality is guaranteed. We have also collaborated with BSSN, Telkom, and Peruri to ensure the security of data stored on BPS servers,” she said.
According to Amalia, the results of the 2026 Economic Census will later serve as the government’s basis for formulating more precise economic policies, as they are built on complete, up-to-date, and accountable data. “In the end, this data will return to the people through economic policies that are more targeted and data-driven,” she said.
