Gorontalo - The Gorontalo Provincial Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) has noted that several regional commodities were part of the exports from January to July 2026, including wood pellets and fishery products.

The Head of Gorontalo BPS, Agus Sudibyo, stated that wood pellets, falling under the HS 44 category, are among the commodities exported by Gorontalo, with Japan serving as one of the primary destinations. “The main export destination is still Japan. The product is HS 44, which is wood pellets,” said Agus during the release of the Gorontalo BPS statistics on Tuesday.

In addition to wood-based products, Gorontalo also exports fishery commodities under the HS 03 category, including fish, shrimp, and crabs. According to Agus, Gorontalo’s fishery products have been marketed to several countries, including Japan, Singapore, and Thailand. He added that these exports include not only fish, shrimp, and crabs but also tuna and blood cockles.

“Various processed foods also serve as commodities exported by Gorontalo Province,” he noted.

Beyond these commodities, Gorontalo also exports coconut derivative products. Products under the HS 08 category, for instance, are marketed to Russia and Germany. Agus explained that the HS 08 products are coconut derivatives that have not yet reached the stage of being processed into oil. Meanwhile, coconut products under the HS 15 category, which have been processed into oil, are recorded as being exported to China.

Overall, the export value of Gorontalo Province in July 2026 was recorded at 6.90 million USD. This value represents a 22.45 per cent decrease compared to June 2026. However, cumulatively, the export value of Gorontalo Province from January to July 2026 reached 47.82 million USD, an increase of 17.74 per cent compared to the same period in 2025, which was recorded at approximately 40.61 million USD.

Agus stated that this development indicates that several regional commodities have successfully gained access to foreign markets with diverse export destinations.
