The Head of the Central Java Central Statistics Agency (BPS), Ali Said, has denied that there is a bottleneck in the payment of wages to partners or enumerators involved in the 2026 Economic Census in Central Java. He stressed that their wages will definitely be paid in accordance with the provisions.

Ali revealed that BPS Central Java has been monitoring all issues developing in relation to the 2026 Economic Census, including the issue of wage payment delays. “I need to clarify that the first term payment for Economic Census officers is not stuck. This honorarium payment cannot be made instantly,” he said in a written statement to Republika on Tuesday (21/7/2026).

He added that the enumerator partners must understand that the payment process takes time and needs to be accompanied by supporting evidence. Ali stated that the accountability aspect is important because the disbursement of wages uses state funds. “Once again, we emphasise that there has been no incident of stuck honorarium payments,” he said.

Ali explained that before the first term wages are paid, the district/city BPS offices need to prepare progress data from the data collection carried out by each field officer. In this case, they must complete at least 40 percent of the workload and the data produced must match the field conditions.

According to Ali, completing the administration and the payment process takes more than one day. He said that since 15 July 2026, district/city BPS offices in Central Java have started completing the administrative evidence required for the disbursement of enumerator partner wages.
