BPOM Surabaya Accelerates National Product Distribution Permits via One Stop Services

The Food and Drug Monitoring Agency (BPOM) continues to strengthen its commitment to accelerating the emergence of Indonesia’s leading products through the organisation of One Stop Services for the Registration of Natural Medicines (OBA), Quasi-Drugs (OK), Health Supplements (SK), and Cosmetics, held on 8-9 July 2026 at BPOM Surabaya. The activity, initiated by the Directorate of Registration of Traditional Medicines, Health Supplements, and Cosmetics (OTSKK) together with the Directorate of Standardisation of Traditional Medicines, Health Supplements, and Cosmetics, represents a strategic step in accelerating the issuance of Distribution Permit Numbers (NIE) while providing registration services that are easier, faster, and closer to business operators. Held at the BPOM Surabaya office, the event was attended by the Deputy for Supervision of Traditional Medicines, Health Supplements, and Cosmetics, Mohamad Kashuri, Head of BPOM Surabaya, Yudi Noviandi, and heads of BPOM Technical Implementation Units (UPT) in the East Java region, including Head of the POM Centre in Jember, Benny Hendrawan Prabowo, Head of the POM Centre in Kediri, Winanto, and Head of the POM Post in Madiun City, Aziz Jihaduddin. The presence of BPOM leaders strengthened central and regional synergy in providing direct assistance to business operators. The programme featured four leading innovations: PATRIOTISME, BRIDGE, NIE TUNTAS, and LENTERA. Over two days, business operators attending both offline and online received intensive mentoring to resolve various registration obstacles while accelerating their product licensing processes. Deputy for Supervision of Traditional Medicines, Health Supplements, and Cosmetics, Mohamad Kashuri, stated that the One Stop Services represent BPOM’s commitment to accelerating registration services while encouraging the birth of more innovative products from the nation’s talents. ‘We want innovation not to stop in the laboratory. BPOM is ready to assist business operators from regulatory compliance to the registration process, so that research results can quickly become products that are safe, of high quality, efficacious, and able to compete in the market. Through One Stop Services, we are delivering services that are faster, easier, and increasingly closer to business operators,’ he said. Head of BPOM Surabaya, Yudi Noviandi, added that the organisation of One Stop Services is a form of BPOM’s commitment to providing services that are closer and more responsive to business operators. ‘We want business operators to feel supported throughout the process. Therefore, BPOM Surabaya is here to help resolve various registration obstacles so that the issuance of Distribution Permit Numbers can proceed more quickly, accurately, and in accordance with regulations. Our hope is that more safe, high-quality, and competitive products can be marketed immediately, thus providing broader benefits to the community,’ he said. In addition to accelerating registration services, BPOM is also strengthening collaboration with academia through cooperation with the Faculty of Pharmacy at Airlangga University. Through the BRIDGE and PATRIOTISME innovations, BPOM provides socialisation, coaching clinics, and mentoring to bridge research results so they can be commercialised into market-ready products. Beyond accelerating research commercialisation, BPOM continues to strengthen regulatory literacy for business operators and the public through the PATRIOTISME innovation. Comprehensive education is provided covering aspects of safety, quality, efficacy, claims, labelling, and the registration and notification process in accordance with regulations. This step is expected to increase compliance while accelerating the emergence of products that meet BPOM standards. Through the implementation of One Stop Services at BPOM Surabaya, the agency reaffirms its commitment to delivering regulatory services that are more responsive, collaborative, and oriented towards accelerating national innovation. The synergy between BPOM headquarters, BPOM Surabaya, academia, and business operators constitutes a concrete step in accelerating the availability of Indonesian products that are safe, of high quality, efficacious, and capable of competing in both national and global markets.
