BPOM Releases List of 24 Illegal Natural Medicine Products Hazardous to the Public

The National Agency of Drug and Food Control (BPOM) has released a list of 24 illegal natural medicines (OBA). This follows supervision through sampling and laboratory testing of 1,858 samples of OBA, quasi-drugs, and supplements conducted in January-February 2026. It was found that these OBA contained added chemical drug substances (BKO), violating the law. The BKO content in OBA varies, such as sildenafil, methyltestosterone, and paracetamol for claims of enhancing male stamina. There are also OBA claiming to relieve muscle aches but containing caffeine, phenylbutazone, sodium diclofenac, paracetamol, dexamethasone, chlorpheniramine maleate (CTM), and prednisone. Additionally, weight loss products contain sibutramine, which can cause cardiovascular disorders. Here is the list of the 24 illegal OBA findings by BPOM.
