BPOM Holds One Stop Services in Surabaya to Accelerate Product Innovation Permits

The Food and Drug Supervisory Agency (BPOM) continues to strengthen its commitment to fostering outstanding domestically produced products. This strategic step is being realised through the organisation of One Stop Services for the registration of Natural Remedies (OBA), Quasi-Drugs (OK), Health Supplements (SK), and Cosmetics, held on 8–9 July 2026 at the BPOM Surabaya office.

The event, initiated by BPOM’s Directorate of Registration and its Directorate of Standardisation for Traditional Medicines, Health Supplements, and Cosmetics, aims to cut through licensing bureaucracy.

Through this service, business operators gain easier access to accelerate the issuance of Marketing Authorisation Numbers (NIE), with direct guidance from the regulator.

Mohamad Kashuri, Deputy for the Supervision of Traditional Medicines, Health Supplements, and Cosmetics at BPOM, emphasised that BPOM wants to ensure the research output of the nation’s children does not remain confined to the laboratory.

“We are ready to guide business operators from regulatory compliance through to the registration process, so that research results can swiftly become products that are safe, of high quality, efficacious, and able to compete in the market,” he said.

During the event, BPOM introduced four innovation pillars designed to resolve the various technical obstacles frequently faced by business operators during the registration process.

The One Stop Services event also served as a platform for strengthening synergy between BPOM headquarters and its Technical Implementation Units (UPT) across East Java. The Head of BPOM in Surabaya, Yudi Noviandi, stated that the presence of this service makes BPOM more responsive to the needs of business operators in the regions.

In addition, BPOM is expanding its collaboration with academia through a partnership with the Faculty of Pharmacy at Airlangga University. Through the coaching clinic programme and the BRIDGE innovation mentoring scheme, BPOM seeks to ensure that campus innovation products meet regulatory standards from the earliest stages of development.

With this integrated service in place, it is hoped that business operators’ compliance with safety and quality standards will improve, so that Indonesian products can not only triumph in the national market but also possess strong competitiveness on the global stage.
