BPOM discovers millions of illegal cosmetics from China marketed via e-commerce platforms

The Indonesian Food and Drug Authority (BPOM) has discovered 2,082,039 illegal imported cosmetics originating from China that lacked proper distribution permits. The seized goods, valued at Rp27.6 billion, were being marketed through various e-commerce platforms. In response to the discovery, BPOM has announced plans to conduct a full recall of all circulating products to ensure public safety. The discovery was confirmed during a press conference held at a warehouse in the Kelapa Dua area, Tangerang Regency, Banten.
