Jakarta - The Food and Drug Monitoring Agency (BPOM) has awarded PT Ajinomoto Indonesia the Programme Management Risiko (PMR) Award 2026 in the category of ‘First Industry to Implement Proactive PMR in All Production Facilities’. The company received the award for its high commitment to voluntarily and consistently implementing the Risk Management Programme, as well as contributing to supporting the strengthening of the national food industry. Head of BPOM Taruna Ikrar stated in Jakarta on Tuesday that PMR plays an important role in ensuring food safety and helping the industry manage risks effectively. For more than 10 years, the agency has implemented a risk-based approach to strengthen national food resilience. PMR is a system developed by BPOM to encourage food industry compliance through structured and sustainable risk management. The implementation of this programme provides benefits to the public through increased food safety assurance, consistency of product quality, and more effective supervision at every stage of the production process, so that products circulating in the market are increasingly guaranteed in terms of quality and safety. According to him, food self-sufficiency is the main foundation for realising public welfare and national progress. Therefore, every year, BPOM gives appreciation to business actors who show commitment in supporting BPOM programmes and implementing regulatory compliance. This year, the PMR Award category was given to companies deemed successful in managing risks effectively to ensure food safety, maintain product quality, and protect consumers. Hermawan stated that this step is part of the company’s commitment to strengthening the quality and food safety management system to deliver safe, high-quality, and reliable products for Indonesian consumers. ‘This award is a form of appreciation for the commitment and hard work of all PT Ajinomoto Indonesia employees in consistently maintaining quality and food safety standards. For us, food safety is not just regulatory compliance, but also a form of responsibility to consumers,’ he said. For PT Ajinomoto Indonesia, he said, this achievement is an important milestone as well as motivation to continue strengthening the risk management culture and contributing to realising a safe, high-quality, and sustainable national food ecosystem.
