BPOM and Indomaret Expand Collaboration to Support MSMEs in Entering Modern Retail
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Indonesian Food and Drug Authority (BPOM) is collaborating with PT Indomarco Prismatama (Indomaret) to support the government’s efforts in providing market access for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) around BPOM, particularly through online services or e-commerce.
BPOM Head, Taruna Ikrar, in Jakarta on Thursday, said that the inauguration of the Bakti Koperasi Konsumen Pegawai BPOM (GBK) outlet presents a modern retail service that provides for the needs of BPOM employees through operational cooperation with Indomaret. GBK also serves as a model of best practice in the distribution of safe and quality products.
“With the integration of BPOM branding, GBK is expected to become an example for other retail outlets and encourage public awareness of the importance of choosing products that are guaranteed to be safe,” he said.
He hopes that the presence of GBK will strengthen access for MSME products into the modern retail ecosystem. In addition, GBK is expected to be an example of a distribution facility that is disciplined in ensuring that every product sold has a marketing permit and is safe for consumption.
Taruna welcomed the presence of the modern retail outlet, which will be able to meet the needs of employees for daily necessities. Therefore, the presence of GBK can be a practical solution while also providing added value in providing safe, quality, and affordable primary needs.
“The inauguration of GBK is not just the opening of a physical store, but a real manifestation of BPOM’s concern for facilitating the fulfillment of the needs of BPOM employees, especially those at the headquarters,” said Taruna Ikrar.
