BPN and PWNU DKI Collaborate to Accelerate Waqf Land Certification
REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA — The DKI Jakarta Regional Office of the National Land Agency (BPN) has partnered with PWNU DKI Jakarta to accelerate the certification of waqf land. This collaboration is intended to strengthen legal certainty over community assets.
The memorandum of understanding was signed at the PWNU DKI Jakarta office in Matraman, East Jakarta, on Friday (10/4/2026). Head of the DKI Jakarta BPN Regional Office, Erry Juliani Pasoreh, stated that accelerating certification needs to be followed up at the regional level.
“Through this memorandum of understanding, we hope to synergise in a more structured, coordinated, and sustainable manner in accelerating waqf land certification. I also request the Heads of Land Offices throughout DKI Jakarta to immediately follow up this agreement with concrete steps in their respective regions,” said Erry in a press release.
Erry explained that waqf land certification is a priority due to its strategic value for social, educational, and religious activities.
PWNU DKI Jakarta Chairman Samsul Ma’arif views this step as important for protecting waqf assets from potential disputes. “I appreciate the government, in this case BPN, for continuously paying attention to us in accelerating the certification of NU-owned waqf land. Hopefully, this MoU can provide benefits for the interests of the community,” said Samsul.
The scope of the collaboration covers waqf land registration, data maintenance, and assistance in resolving land issues. In addition, both parties will conduct socialisation and education regarding land registration.
BPN hopes that accelerating the legalisation of waqf land can increase its utilisation for the community and reduce the potential for land conflicts in the DKI Jakarta region.
