Efforts to promote the role of domestic industries in the upstream oil and gas sector continue to be strengthened through a collaboration between the Badan Pengelola Migas Aceh (BPMA), PT Sucofindo (Persero), and PT Surveyor Indonesia (Persero). This collaboration is expected to ensure that upstream oil and gas activities in Aceh provide greater benefits to the regional and national economy.

This cooperation fundamentally aims to ensure that the use of domestic products and services in oil and gas activities operates optimally, measurably, and transparently. In this way, every industrial activity not only focuses on energy production but also delivers tangible impacts on local industry growth.

The President Director of PT Surveyor Indonesia, Fajar Wibhiyadi, stated that this collaboration is an important step in ensuring that oil and gas industry activities provide broader added value.

“We want to ensure that every activity in the upstream oil and gas sector not only produces energy but also drives the growth of domestic industries. When the use of local products and services increases, the impact will be directly felt by business actors, workers, and the supply chain in the region,” he said.

For Aceh, this cooperation opens up greater opportunities for local businesses to participate in the oil and gas industry supply chain. With increased involvement, it is hoped that more inclusive economic growth will occur, from enhancing regional industrial capacity to creating jobs.

Not only that, the impact could extend to the entire Sumatra region, including North Sumatra, given the interconnectedness of the supply chain and industry distribution in this area. Strengthening supporting oil and gas industries can drive cross-regional economic activities, from manufacturing, services, to logistics.

This cooperation is also expected to create a more transparent and trustworthy system, so that all parties—government, industry players, and investors—have clarity in seeing the real contribution of the oil and gas industry to the economy.

“This collaboration is not just about compliance, but about how we collectively ensure that the oil and gas sector truly becomes a driver of the regional economy. The key lies in synergy among parties so that the benefits can be felt more widely,” Fajar added.

In the future, the synergy between BPMA, Sucofindo, and PT Surveyor Indonesia is expected to serve as a model for collaborations that not only strengthen the energy sector but also promote national industrial independence and sustainable regional economic growth.
