BPKP to oversee 11,407 assurance activities throughout 2025
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Financial and Development Supervisory Agency (BPKP) has implemented oversight activities encompassing 11,407 assurance activities and 1,415 consulting activities to strengthen accountability in the management of government programmes throughout 2025. The contribution to state and regional finances reached Rp53.36 trillion through these various assurance and consulting activities. “BPKP has a strategic mandate to carry out supervision of state finances and national development through various activities such as audits, reviews, evaluations, monitoring, and other forms of oversight on the planning, implementation, and accountability of the use of state and regional budgets,” said Deputy Head of BPKP Agustina Arumsari during a working meeting with Committee IV of the DPD RI, as quoted from its official statement in Jakarta on Wednesday. In the supervision of village funds, the agency emphasised the urgency of preventing budget use from being trapped in patterns of routine spending or repetitive activities that provide no real impact for the community. Oversight is conducted through a risk-based and data-driven approach to ensure that village funds truly contribute to village development and poverty alleviation. BPKP also utilises the digital Village Financial System (Siskeudes), which is currently used by around 93 percent of villages in Indonesia. The system supports village fund management, from the planning stage to evaluation. Looking ahead, she continued, oversight will also be strengthened through the development of Continuous Audit and Continuous Monitoring (CACM), which enables real-time monitoring. In addition, the agency continues to coordinate with various ministries to ensure that every government programme is viewed comprehensively and provides broad impacts for national development. “As part of the village fund oversight strategy for 2026, BPKP will implement a more precise approach through a combination of desk monitoring based on Siskeudes, risk-based field spot checks, and cross-validation with various external data sources. BPKP, together with regional Government Internal Supervisory Units (APIP), will also conduct periodic evaluations of the inventory, recording, and utilisation of village assets,” said Sari. On the same occasion, Committee IV of the DPD RI emphasised the importance of deeper oversight of strategic government programmes that directly interact with regional communities. Committee IV also urged BPKP to strengthen risk- and data-based oversight and to enhance guidance for regional government internal supervisory apparatus (APIP).
