BPKH Distributes Rp2.06 Trillion in Benefits to 5.7 Million Prospective Hajj Pilgrims
The Hajj Financial Management Agency (BPKH) has disbursed over Rp2.06 trillion in Phase I benefits for 2026 to around 5.7 million prospective regular and special hajj pilgrims who are still on the waiting list for departure.
Head of the BPKH Executive Board, Fadlul Imansyah, stated that this distribution is part of optimising the management of hajj funds to ensure sustainable benefits for the pilgrims. “We continue to strive to optimise the management of hajj funds so that they provide sustainable benefits,” Fadlul Imansyah said in Jakarta on Tuesday.
Of the total benefit value, approximately Rp1.8 trillion was distributed to prospective regular hajj pilgrims, with an average of Rp323,490 per person. Meanwhile, prospective special hajj pilgrims received benefits totalling 13.8 million US dollars, averaging 61.61 US dollars per person. The amount of benefit received by each pilgrim may vary depending on several factors, including the length of their waiting period.
The same mechanism applies to the allocation of benefits used to support the Hajj Travel Costs (BPIH) for pilgrims departing in the current year. Fadlul explained that the allocation is determined by considering the balance of benefits for pilgrims and the sustainability of hajj financial management.
“The allocation of benefits for departing pilgrims and those still on the waiting list must be maintained proportionally. When the portion of benefits allocated to support the implementation of the hajj pilgrimage is larger, the room for allocation that can be distributed to waiting pilgrims through the Virtual Account Benefit (NMVA) becomes more limited,” Fadlul said. He added that this balance is an important part of maintaining the sustainability of hajj funds, so that benefits can be felt fairly, both by pilgrims who will depart and those still waiting their turn.
Meanwhile, BPKH Executive Board Member Amri Yusuf emphasised that the management and distribution of benefits are carried out in accordance with sharia principles, transparency, and financial prudence. “BPKH ensures that benefits are managed and distributed according to sharia principles and applicable regulations. Pilgrims can also monitor the benefits recorded in their Virtual Account through the BPKH Apps, making the process more transparent and easily accessible,” said Amri.
