BPK to Pursue Ethics Proceedings Against Employee Implicated in Muara Enim Corruption Case

The Audit Board of Indonesia (BPK) will process ethics charges against an employee implicated in an alleged legal case at the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK). ‘We will process all employees suspected of involvement in this matter in accordance with applicable regulations, through the Code of Ethics Honour Council (MKKE),’ said Teguh Widodo, Head of the BPK’s Public Relations and International Cooperation Bureau, via a press statement on Thursday (11/6). The KPK has just named a BPK civil servant, Titin Rita Lestari, as a suspect and detained her for an alleged bribery case related to BPK audit findings on several procurements within the Muara Enim Regency Government, South Sumatra Province. Teguh stated that the BPK is committed to being cooperative and providing the necessary data and information support as required by statutory provisions to the KPK. ‘The BPK has systematically implemented various integrity management programmes developed by applying a zero-tolerance principle against integrity violations committed by BPK employees and is committed to continuously evaluating and strengthening integrity management on an ongoing basis,’ Teguh said. Previously, Titin, along with a private sector party named Augusz Dewanggara alias Angga, were named by the KPK as bribe recipients. Angga is known to have been an expert staff member for a DPR member who currently serves as a Member V of the BPK, Bobby Adhityo Rizaldi. In the Muara Enim case, the KPK also named three other suspects alleged to have acted as bribe givers. They are Muara Enim Regent Edison, and parties from PT Millenium Solusi Abadi (MSA), namely Cory Erin Hardi and Fika. The KPK stated there was a demand for a fee from Angga to the Muara Enim Regent to alter audit results amounting to approximately Rp1.6 billion, derived from 1 per cent of the infrastructure work budget ceiling or 2 per cent of the procurement budget ceiling from the Muara Enim Regency Government. For their actions, Edison, Cory, and Fika are charged with violating Article 605 letter a and/or letter b of Law Number 1 of 2026 concerning Criminal Adjustments and/or Article 606 paragraph (1) of the Criminal Adjustment Law in conjunction with Article 20 letter c of Law Number 1 of 2023 concerning the Criminal Code. Meanwhile, Angga and Titin are charged with violating Article 12 letter a or letter b or Article 11 of the Corruption Eradication Law and/or Article 606 paragraph (2) of the Criminal Adjustment Law in conjunction with Article 20 letter c of the Criminal Code. The suspects are being detained for the first 20 days from 10 to 29 June 2026 at the KPK’s Red and White Building branch of the State Detention Centre. This case is a follow-up to a sting operation conducted by the KPK in the Jakarta and South Sumatra areas related to an alleged bribery case in the procurement of goods and services and gratuity receipts for the 2025-2026 fiscal year within the Muara Enim Regency Government. Of the 10 people arrested, four have been named as suspects. The remainder remain as witnesses.
