BPK to file graft report in June

JAYAPURA, Papua: The Supreme Audit Agency (BPK) promised on Monday to provide the House of Representatives in June with a report on alleged graft in the sale of two tankers belonging to state-owned oil firm Pertamina.

Deputy BPK head Abdullah Zainie said his office was working hard to audit the huge fund used for the sale and investigate the Pertamina officials involved.

"We are determined that by June all the findings of the tanker sale will be presented to the House," he said in the Papua capital of Jayapura.

A Business Competition Supervisory Commission (KPPU) report on March 24 said Pertamina had sold its two giant tankers to Bermuda company Frontline Ltd. without a proper tender. The deal led to potential losses in state revenue, the KPPU said. -- Antara
