BPK stresses urgency of strengthening National Socio-Economic Single Data system
The Audit Board of Indonesia (BPK) has emphasised the urgent need to strengthen, develop, and utilise the National Single Socio-Economic Data (DTSEN) system to improve the accuracy of government programme targeting. BPK Chair Isma Yatun stated that DTSEN is expected to become the primary basis for enhancing the quality of planning and evaluation of government programmes, particularly social welfare and public subsidy schemes, ensuring they are received by the right targets, in the right amounts, and at the right time. She made the remarks during the submission of the BPK’s Audit Report on the 2025 Central Government Financial Report to the House of Representatives in Jakarta.
In addition to DTSEN improvements, she highlighted the crucial need for institutional transformation of State-Owned Enterprises following the enactment of Laws Number 1 and Number 16 of 2025. These regulatory changes are considered to carry significant consequences that demand a strengthened governance framework and adequate accountability mechanisms. The unaudited 2025 Central Government Financial Report was submitted by the government to the BPK on 31 March 2026, and the BPK completed the entire audit process in accordance with applicable regulations and on schedule, submitting the results to the House of Representatives on 26 May 2026.
Based on the audit results, the BPK issued an Unqualified Opinion on the 2025 Central Government Financial Report. This opinion was supported by Unqualified Opinions on 97 Ministry/Agency Financial Reports and one State General Treasurer Financial Report. Isma Yatun noted that nearly all ministries and agencies received an Unqualified Opinion, demonstrating the improving quality of government financial reporting. She affirmed that auditing the Central Government Financial Report is not merely the execution of the BPK’s mandate, but a constitutional commitment to ensure that every rupiah managed through the State Budget is used responsibly and delivers concrete impact for welfare and social justice, as mandated by the 1945 Constitution.
