BPK Responds to Arrest of Its ASN by KPK in Muara Enim Sting Operation

The Supreme Audit Agency (BPK) has issued a response regarding the detention of a BPK civil servant by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) following a sting operation (OTT) into alleged bribery in the Muara Enim Regency Government. BPK stated that it respects the legal process undertaken by the KPK as part of a synergy and joint effort to eradicate corruption in Indonesia. ‘BPK is committed to being cooperative and providing the necessary data and information support in accordance with statutory provisions,’ BPK stated in an official release on Thursday (11/6/2026). In line with this, BPK affirmed its commitment to process all employees suspected of involvement in this incident according to applicable regulations through the Code of Ethics Honour Council (MKKE). BPK stated it has systematically implemented various integrity management programmes developed by applying a principle of zero tolerance towards integrity violations committed by BPK employees, and is committed to continuously evaluating and strengthening its integrity management. Previously, the KPK arrested 10 people during a sting operation from 7-8 June 2026. Five people were arrested in Jakarta, and five others in South Sumatra. In the KPK’s 12th sting operation of 2026, Muara Enim Regent Edison was among the 10 individuals detained. On 9 June 2026, the KPK named four suspects in a case of alleged bribery related to the procurement of goods and services and other gratuities within the Muara Enim Regency Government for the 2025-2026 fiscal year. The four suspects are Edison; Head of the Muara Enim Education and Culture Department Secretary, Abi Nurwardani; a marketing executive at PT Millenium Solusi Abadi, Cory Erin Hardi; and Adi Triyadi, who is Edison’s nephew. On 10 June 2026, the KPK conducted a follow-up sting operation and arrested five civil servants (ASN) from BPK RI. This operation became the KPK’s 13th sting operation during 2026. On 11 June 2026, the Head of the Audit Team for BPK’s South Sumatra Representative Office, Titin Rita Lestari, and a private sector individual named Augus Dwianggara were confirmed by the KPK as suspects in an alleged bribery scheme involving the arrangement of BPK audit findings on the Muara Enim Regency Government.
