BPK Proposes Two Strategic Changes for INCOSAI Management in Bali
The Chairman of the Audit Board of Indonesia (BPK), Isma Yatun, has proposed two strategic changes in the management of the 2028 International Congress of Supreme Audit Institutions (INCOSAI), which will be held in Bali. These changes involve strengthening the focus of the congress theme and enhancing the agenda design to ensure a greater impact on the INTOSAI (International Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions) community.
Isma Yatun made this statement during the Finance and Administration Committee (PFAC) Meeting at the World Bank Headquarters in Washington D.C., United States, according to an official statement received in Jakarta on Thursday.
During the PFAC Meeting—a committee meeting designed to provide input to the Governing Board regarding the organisation’s policies, finance, and administration—Isma Yatun reported on the progress of BPK’s preparations to host the 26th INCOSAI in 2028. In his report, he emphasised that the 26th INCOSAI is intended to be more than just a meeting forum, but rather a momentum to contribute to the future direction of INTOSAI.
The proposed themes and sub-themes have been circulated to INTOSAI members since 7 September 2026 as part of a consultation process to gather feedback from all members. Isma Yatun also reported several developments regarding the congress preparations, including plans for a four-day programme, the development of a website and application, and plans for side events and various other supporting activities.
“We look forward to the support and involvement of all INTOSAI members in preparing the 26th INCOSAI in Bali,” he said.
The series of activities was attended by strategic INTOSAI stakeholders, including the President of INTOSAI, the Secretary General of INTOSAI, and the Chairs of the INTOSAI Goals Committees.
The IRCP serves as a strategic forum for INTOSAI to strengthen coordination and collaboration between regional and global structures. In this forum, BPK, acting as the Secretariat of ASEANSAI (ASEAN Supreme Audit Institutions), presented ASEANSAI’s experience in improving the quality management of SAIs within the ASEAN region.
Meanwhile, the MOSAIC Forum 2026 and the IDC Meeting serve as platforms to strengthen networking, knowledge exchange, and coordination with international stakeholders to support accountability and the institutional strengthening of audit bodies.
