BPK Member Haerul Saleh Dies in House Fire, Institution Mourns

JAKARTA - Member IV of the Supreme Audit Agency of the Republic of Indonesia (BPK), Haerul Saleh, passed away on Friday morning (8/5/2026). This news was confirmed by BPK RI. “We hereby inform that BPK Member IV, Haerul Saleh, has passed away on Friday, 8 May 2026, in Jakarta, at the age of 44 years,” stated BPK in its official remarks on Friday. BPK noted that the late Saleh had served as Member IV of BPK since April 2022. The late is currently laid out at the funeral home on Jalan Kartika Utama, South Jakarta. The body is planned to be buried in Kolaka, Southeast Sulawesi. “May the late be granted the best place by His side, and may the family he leaves behind be given fortitude and strength,” wrote BPK. “Yes, it’s true, the fatality victim is Mr. Chaerul Saleh from BPK,” said Jagakarsa Police Sector Chief AKP Nurma Dewi, when confirmed by Kompas.com on Friday.
