BPK Member Haerul Saleh Dies in House Fire During Renovation

JAKARTA - A member of the Supreme Audit Agency of Indonesia (BPK) IV, Haerul Saleh, has passed away after his house caught fire on Friday morning (8/5/2026). This sad news was conveyed by Agriculture Minister Andi Amran Sulaiman, who immediately visited the hospital where Haerul had been treated. “We, the extended family of the Ministry of Agriculture, extend our deepest condolences over the passing of Mr Haerul Saleh,” said Amran in his official statement on Friday. At the time, Haerul was supervising the construction process being carried out by several workers. The fire suddenly flared up, accompanied by black smoke. “He was a good person, calm, simple, and had a strong commitment to upholding integrity and good governance,” he said.
