BPK Member Detained in Muara Enim Regent Case Claims Innocence

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has detained two suspects following a follow-up sting operation in Muara Enim: Titin Rita Lestari, the head of the audit team from the Supreme Audit Agency’s (BPK) South Sumatra representative office, and a private sector individual named Augus Dwianggara. The pair appeared before the public at the KPK’s Red and White Building in Jakarta on Thursday, 11 June 2026, at approximately 10:10 WIB, before being escorted to a detention vehicle. Titin claimed she did not receive any money from the alleged corruption case implicating her. “I did not receive any money. This is unfair. I was just the executor,” Titin stated before entering the detention vehicle. She stressed that she was merely the implementing party, not the recipient of funds. When pressed further by journalists, she said the money was received by her superiors. “My superiors, in a hierarchical structure,” she remarked. Previously, the KPK arrested 10 individuals during an operation on 7-8 June 2026, five in Jakarta and five in South Sumatra. Among those detained was the Regent of Muara Enim, Edison. On 9 June 2026, the KPK named four suspects in a case involving alleged bribery related to the procurement of goods and services and other receipts within the Muara Enim Regency government for the 2025-2026 fiscal year. On 10 June 2026, the KPK conducted a follow-up sting operation, arresting five civil servants from the BPK RI, marking the agency’s 13th such operation in 2026.
