BPK member denies Mulyana allegation

JAKARTA: Supreme Audit Agency (BPK) auditing team head Khairiansyah Salman plans to file a libel suit against General Elections Committee member Mulyana W. Kusumah, his lawyer says.

Mulyana told the anticorruption court on Monday that Khairiansyah received a weekly transportation allowance of Rp 750,000 (US$78.94) from the committee.

"He denied having accepted such a fund and there were no proof of such an allegation," Khairiansyah's lawyer, Todung Mulya Lubis, said at the South Jakarta District Court on Tuesday.

Corruption Eradication Committee vice chairman Erry Riyana Hardjapamekas had confirmed the allegation was not true, Todung said.

Mulyana is standing trial for alleged bribery. -- Antara
