The Audit Board of Indonesia (BPK) has stated that the 2025 financial reports of the International Maritime Organization (IMO) and the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) have been presented fairly in all material respects. The findings were delivered during the 137th IMO Council Meeting in London and the 68th WIPO Assemblies in Geneva. BPK Director and Deputy Auditor in Charge Kusuma Ayu Rusnasanti confirmed that the IMO’s financial statements were presented fairly in accordance with International Public Sector Accounting Standards (IPSAS) and the IMO’s Financial Regulations and Rules. Beyond the audit opinion, BPK provided strategic recommendations concerning the strengthening of accounting policies, procurement practices, and human resource management. In its performance audit, BPK focused on cash management, concluding that it was effectively managed to support the organisation’s liquidity. To optimise this, BPK identified opportunities for improvement in risk management policies, investment management, and liquidity monitoring mechanisms. BPK also commended the IMO for its commitment to following up on previous audit recommendations, achieving a 78 percent completion rate. At the WIPO Assemblies, BPK similarly reported that WIPO’s 2025 financial statements were fairly presented according to IPSAS and WIPO’s Financial Regulations and Rules. To strengthen governance, BPK recommended enhancements to the financial reporting information system, supplier oversight, and the governance of investments and assets. The performance audit evaluated the Madrid System and the Global Database, concluding that both strategic services were effectively managed to support the global intellectual property system. BPK stressed the urgency of more robust information system integration, refinement of performance indicators, and strengthening data quality in WIPO’s global database through closer coordination with national intellectual property offices. BPK also appreciated WIPO’s commitment to addressing previous recommendations, with an 88 percent completion rate. The unqualified opinions and strategic recommendations demonstrate that BPK acts not merely as an international auditor, but as a strategic partner adding value to global governance. The high follow-up rates serve as evidence that BPK’s audit results meet international standards and are seriously implemented by world organisations. The presentation of these audit results at both prestigious forums reflects BPK’s commitment to promoting transparency and accountability, while showcasing Indonesia’s tangible contribution to ensuring credible financial management practices and strengthening sustainable global governance in both the maritime and intellectual property sectors.
