Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Supreme Audit Agency (BPK) has expressed its respects for the dedicated service of BPK Member IV Haerul Saleh. The late individual had served as BPK Member IV since April 2022. “BPK Member IV Haerul Saleh passed away on Friday, 8 May 2026 in Jakarta, at the age of 44. The leadership and the entire BPK family express their respects for the late individual’s dedication,” according to a statement from the BPK’s Bureau of Public Relations and International Cooperation in Jakarta on Friday. News of Haerul Saleh’s death was also conveyed by Agriculture Minister Andi Amran Sulaiman. Amran stated that Haerul Saleh died following a fire disaster at his home. The Minister became one of the first mourners and helped escort the body to the ambulance. Minister Amran said he heard a brief chronology of the fire incident from the housemaid. The incident happened very quickly while the victim was supervising several people processing the renovation. Suddenly, the fire grew large and black smoke could not be avoided. The body is currently being laid to rest at the Funeral Home on Jl Kartika Utama, South Jakarta, and is planned to be buried in Kolaka, Southeast Sulawesi. BPK requests that the public give space and privacy to the late individual’s extended family during this mourning period. Further information will be provided through the BPK’s Bureau of Public Relations and International Cooperation.
