BPK Encourages Integration of ESG Principles in State Financial Management

The principle of sustainability has transformed from mere compliance into a key factor in strengthening national economic resilience and enhancing public trust.

Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Indonesian Supreme Audit Agency (BPK) is encouraging the integration of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles in state financial management as a strategic instrument to support the Indonesia Emas 2045 vision.

This was conveyed by BPK Member I, Nyoman Adhi Suryadnyana, during the opening meeting of the audit of the 2025 Financial Report at the Coordinating Ministry for Legal, Human Rights, Immigration and Penitentiary Affairs (Kemenko Kumham-Imipas), the Ministry of Law (Kemenhum), the Ministry of Human Rights (Kemen-HAM), and the Ministry of Immigration and Penitentiary Affairs (Kemenimipas).

“The principle of sustainability has transformed from mere compliance into a key factor in strengthening national economic resilience and enhancing public trust,” he said in an official statement, Jakarta, Thursday.

Nyoman affirmed that ESG principles have transformed for the government from mere compliance into a strategic instrument to strengthen national economic resilience and enhance public trust.

On this occasion, he also expressed his appreciation for the commitment and cooperation of the ministry leaders in supporting good state financial governance.

He emphasised that the BPK’s audit is not solely focused on findings, but on continuous improvement that has a broad impact on national development.

“We are not just looking for findings or errors. What is more important is to provide constructive recommendations for improvement to strengthen accountability, efficiency, and effectiveness in the use of state resources and finances,” said BPK Member I.
