BPK Civil Servant Denies Receiving Bribe in Muara Enim Case: 'I Was Just an Executor'
A civil servant at the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK) named Titin has been detained by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) after being caught in a follow-up sting operation linked to a bribery case in Muara Enim Regency. Titin, who served as the Head of the BPK Audit Team for the South Sumatra Representative Office, denied receiving any money. “I did not receive any money, this is unjust, I was just an executor,” Titin said whilst being escorted from the KPK’s Merah Putih building to a detention vehicle on Thursday (11/6/2026). Titin continued to deny accepting money, stating that the recipients were her superiors in a hierarchical chain. “I only executed orders. (The ones who received the money) were my superiors going up the chain,” Titin explained when asked who received the bribes from Muara Enim Regent Edison. Titin was detained alongside a private sector individual named Angga following the follow-up sting operation concerning the bribery case involving Muara Enim Regent Edison. Both were immediately detained after being examined by investigators. It is understood that a total of five BPK civil servants were caught in the sting operation. The KPK stated the operation was related to the procurement of a smart board project in Muara Enim. “As far as we know, this is connected to efforts to cover up BPK audit findings related to procurements within the Muara Enim Regency Government, one of which was the smart TV procurement,” said KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo at the Merah Putih building in South Jakarta on Wednesday (10/6). This sting operation is a continuation of an earlier operation targeting Muara Enim Regent Edison. The KPK explained that bribes were given by the Muara Enim Regency Government to BPK officials. In the initial sting operation targeting the Muara Enim Regent, 11 people were secured. Six individuals were caught in the first cluster, and five BPK civil servants were caught in this second cluster. “So the total number of individuals secured is 11. Six people were also secured in yesterday’s hand arrest operation, and five more individuals are new parties secured in this latest operation. These five individuals are civil servants from the Audit Board of Indonesia,” he clarified. In this case, the KPK has detained four people after naming them as suspects. Besides Muara Enim Regent Edison, three other parties have also been named as suspects and detained: 1. Secretary of the Education and Culture Department for 2026 - Abi Nurwardani. 2. The Regent’s nephew - Adi Triyadi. 3. Marketing representative of PT Millenium Solusi Abadi - Cory Erin Hardi. The KPK is charging Edison, Abi, and Adi under Article 12 letter a and/or Article 12 letter b and/or Article 12B of Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning the Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption. Meanwhile, Cory, as a private party, is charged under Article 605 letter a and/or Article 605 letter b of Law Number 1 of 2026. The KPK has detained the suspects for an initial 20-day period from 9 to 28 June 2026. The detention is being carried out at the State Detention Centre branch of the KPK’s Merah Putih Building.
