BPK chief, members take oaths
JAKARTA: President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono on Friday witnessed the taking of oath's of new State Audit Agency (BPK) chief Anwar Nasution and other BPK members.
Chief Justice Bagir Manan swore in Anwar along with his deputy Abdullah Zainie and five BPK members including Imran AK, Baharuddin Aritonang, Hasan Bisri, I Gusti Agung Rai and Insp. Gen. Uju Juhairi, at the State Palace.
Anwar, who replaced Satrio Billy Joedono, was formerly the senior deputy governor of Bank Indonesia.
The appointment of Anwar as BPK chief was signed by former president Megawati Soekarnoputri just before she quit office on Oct. 20. Anwar's inauguration had been delayed due to a challenge from the Regional Representatives Council. -- JP
