BPK Appreciates BULOG's Performance, Grain and Rice Procurement Reaches 77%
The Audit Board of Indonesia (BPK) has expressed appreciation for Perum BULOG’s performance in carrying out government assignments in the food sector. As of early June 2026, the realisation of domestic grain and rice procurement has reached approximately 77 per cent of the national target.
Dr. Slamet Edy Purnomo, Head of the Seventh Audit Board of BPK RI, stated that BULOG has effectively executed the state’s strategic duties, particularly in supporting the sustainable food self-sufficiency programme. “BPK sees that the management of state finances at BULOG is running well and is accountable. We also appreciate the achievement of domestic grain and rice procurement, which as of early June has reached around 77 per cent of the set target. This is a very good achievement and demonstrates BULOG’s commitment to supporting the national food security programme,” Slamet Edy Purnomo said in a statement on Friday (12/6/2026).
The appreciation was conveyed by Slamet Edy Purnomo while accompanying Perum BULOG President Director Letjen TNI (Purn) Dr. Ahmad Rizal Ramdhani during a review of the harvest and BULOG’s infrastructure readiness in Karawang Regency, West Java, on Thursday (11/6). During the visit, BPK assessed that the management of state finances at BULOG has been conducted properly and accountably. The procurement achievement for grain and rice is considered an indicator of BULOG’s success in executing the government’s mandate to strengthen national food security.
He affirmed that BPK will continue to support and oversee the various strategic government programmes implemented by BULOG to ensure optimal benefits for farmers, the community, and national food security.
Meanwhile, Perum BULOG President Director Letjen TNI (Purn) Dr. Ahmad Rizal Ramdhani stated that the 77 per cent achievement as of early June demonstrates the effectiveness of the strategy for absorbing farmers’ grain, strengthening cross-sector synergy, and optimising BULOG’s infrastructure. “We will continue to work maximally to ensure that all farmers’ harvests are absorbed properly, so that farmers’ welfare increases and national food security becomes stronger. The recognition and appreciation from BPK RI is proof that this achievement is supported by good and accountable governance and financial management,” said Ahmad Rizal Ramdhani.
According to him, the BPK visit further reinforces the importance of good governance and financial management as the foundation for the success of the national food programme. With grain and rice procurement having reached 77 per cent of the 2026 target, BULOG is optimistic that it can complete the procurement target while strengthening the government’s food reserves to support sustainable food self-sufficiency.
