Jakarta – The Toll Road Regulatory Agency (BPJT) under the Ministry of Public Works has confirmed that toll road infrastructure is ready to serve the 2026 Lebaran homecoming rush. This assurance was provided following accelerated repairs to pavement damage across several major toll sections that had previously been affected by extreme weather and heavy rainfall.

BPJT, together with Toll Road Business Entities (BUJT), undertook intensive repairs of pavement damage points to ensure the safety and comfort of motorway users during the homecoming period.

BPJT Chief Wilan Oktavian stated that road repair work across various main toll corridors had been completed by BUJT ahead of the homecoming rush.

One corridor receiving particular attention is the Jakarta–Tangerang–Merak section, a primary route for vehicle movement towards western Java and access to Merak Port. Intensive damage repairs were carried out by the toll operator through accelerated fieldwork on this corridor.

Through these efforts, all major repair work on damage points has been completed, with toll road conditions declared ready for use during the homecoming period.

“Pavement damage repairs on the Jakarta–Tangerang section have in principle been completed by the toll operator before the homecoming rush begins. However, should minor works such as patching or road surface finishing still be needed, such work can continue to be carried out by BUJT as part of efforts to maintain toll road service quality,” said Wilan.

According to him, accelerated repairs on this corridor were prioritised because of high traffic volumes during the homecoming period.

“The Jakarta–Tangerang–Merak corridor is a vital distribution route for traffic towards the Banten region and Merak Port. Therefore, road repairs on this section are a top priority to prevent disruption to vehicle flow,” he said.

Wilan also expressed appreciation to toll road users who reported road conditions through various social media channels.

“We are grateful to toll road users who actively reported road conditions via social media. This public participation has greatly assisted accelerated fieldwork and is part of our effort to provide service to toll road users,” said Wilan.

According to him, information transparency is important to maintain public trust in the repair processes conducted by toll operators.

“BPJT also encourages all Toll Road Business Entities to periodically publish information on pothole and road damage repairs through their official social media channels. This is important so the public can see that repairs are indeed being carried out massively and progress can be monitored openly,” said Wilan.

Besides the Jakarta–Merak corridor, BPJT is also conducting intensive oversight of repair work on the Trans-Java corridor, which is a main long-distance travel route during the homecoming period.
