BPJS Says JKN-KIS Coverage in Kudus Reaches 99%
Kudus (ANTARA) – Coverage of the National Health Insurance–Healthy Indonesia Card (JKN-KIS) programme in Kudus Regency, Central Java, has reached 99%, with 88% of members actively participating. The figures reflect a joint commitment to providing health protection for the public.
“The 99% coverage demonstrates the local government’s commitment to expanding public access to healthcare services,” BPJS Kesehatan Supervisory Board member Afif Johan said in Kudus on Monday.
He said the high coverage provided a strong guarantee of health protection for Kudus residents, and showed a shared commitment to supporting the people of the regency.
He added that the enrolment figure was an important foundation for ensuring that residents could access healthcare through the JKN programme.
He also praised the support of the Kudus Police and its personnel in expanding public access to healthcare. Their backing is expected to make it easier for Kudus residents to obtain health protection through JKN.
“The Kudus Regency Government now also has the support of the Kudus Police Chief and all his personnel. This will make it even easier for the people of Kudus to access healthcare services,” he said.
Meanwhile, Putut Winarno, head of the Kudus Regency Social Affairs, Women’s Empowerment, Child Protection, Population Control and Family Planning Office (Dinsos P3AP2KB), said that coverage among recipients of locally funded contribution assistance (PBI APBD) stood at 98.64%, while the active participation rate was about 86.20%.
He said he hoped coordination with the Kudus Police would increase coverage by enabling vulnerable residents who were not yet registered with JKN-KIS to enrol.
“Until now, people in Kudus have tended to arrange their JKN-KIS registration only when they fall ill. When they are healthy, they are reluctant to do so,” he said.
