Jakarta — The BPJS Ketenagakerjaan has thrown its support behind the Free Mudik Programme organised by the Labour Ministry (Kemnaker) ahead of Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah, which will benefit 1,000 workers.

BPJS Ketenagakerjaan Chief Executive Saiful Hidayat stated that this support forms part of the institution’s commitment to worker welfare, particularly during this important occasion for family reunions in their hometowns.

“Firstly, on behalf of the BPJS Ketenagakerjaan family, I would like to extend congratulations to all Indonesian workers as they observe Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah. This moment is profoundly significant for workers to reunite with their beloved families,” he said in a statement issued in Jakarta on Tuesday.

This year, BPJS Ketenagakerjaan will continue to provide full support for the Labour Ministry’s Free Mudik Programme. Additionally, it is backing homecoming initiatives organised by the Ministry of Religious Affairs (Kemenag) and various local governments.

He emphasised that BPJS Ketenagakerjaan seeks to remain present alongside Indonesian workers, not only in providing protection whilst working and facing occupational risks, but also during moments of togetherness with family.

“We understand that for many workers, mudik represents an important moment to satisfy their longing after working throughout the year. That is why we wish to continue supporting Indonesian workers, not only during their work, but also when they enjoy time with their beloved families,” he said.

“We appreciate the cooperation from our partners who have worked with the Labour Ministry to facilitate the mudik programme, and we certainly hope this cooperation will continue. We want to be able to send as many people as possible in this Free Mudik Programme,” said Labour Minister Yassierli.

In addition to conveying a message from President Prabowo Subianto to all mudik participants, Minister Yassierli also urged workers, upon completion of the mudik holiday, to return to their workplaces with renewed spirit and dedication.

“After completing the mudik, return to your respective workplaces and resume your work with the finest dedication to serve the nation,” said Minister Yassierli.
