Nabire (ANTARA) - BPJS Ketenagakerjaan Nabire branch has partnered with Bank Tabungan Negara (BTN) Jayapura to support President Prabowo Subianto’s priority programme of constructing 3 million houses through the Additional Service Benefits (MLT) scheme.

BPJS Ketenagakerjaan Nabire Head Muslika stated on Tuesday in Nabire that the MLT programme is intended for formal workers enrolled in at least three BPJS Ketenagakerjaan schemes: Employment Accident Insurance (JKK), Death Insurance (JKM), and Old Age Insurance (JHT).

“One of the primary goals of MLT is to meet workers’ basic needs through homeownership,” he said.

He explained that BPJS Ketenagakerjaan collaborates with banking institutions and property developers to implement the programme. In Nabire, the partnership is currently with BTN Jayapura.

The MLT scheme offers three financing facilities: Housing Down Payment Loan (PUMP), Home Ownership Credit (KPR), and Housing Renovation Loan (PRP).

PUMP is designed for participants wanting to purchase their first home but facing down payment constraints.

“The maximum PUMP loan is Rp150 million with a repayment period of up to 30 years, exclusively for subsidised housing,” he said.

The programme also allows for converting general KPR into MLT KPR.

In addition to home purchases, participants can utilise the PRP to finance renovations of existing homes.

For PRP, participants must provide documents including a land title certificate in their name and a building permit (IMB).

Muslika noted that the MLT programme’s advantage lies in lower interest rates compared to standard bank loans.

Under this scheme, workers receive loan interest based on the BI Rate plus 3 percentage points with a fixed rate until full repayment.

“Given the current BI Rate of 4.75%, workers can secure a loan interest rate of around 7.75%, which remains flat until the loan is settled,” he said.

Through this initiative, BPJS Ketenagakerjaan is helping workers access affordable housing, supporting the government’s 3 million houses programme.
