BPJS Ketenagakerjaan Expands Worker Protection Through 3C Strategy
BPJS Ketenagakerjaan is striving to expand worker protection through the Coverage, Care, and Credibility (3C) strategy as a step towards delivering more inclusive and sustainable employment social security. “We aim to expand, simplify, and strengthen (protection for workers). So, expand, simplify, strengthen, as already conveyed by the Chairman of the Dewas. We are adopting three focus strategies: coverage, care, and credibility,” stated the Director General of BPJS Ketenagakerjaan, Saiful Hidayat, during a Hearing with Commission IX of the DPR RI in Jakarta on Tuesday. Further elaborating, Saiful explained that the coverage strategy is focused on expanding the scope of participation so that more workers, both formal and informal, can be protected under the social security programme. “Coverage certainly means expanding social security protection,” he said. In addition, Saiful noted that BPJS Ketenagakerjaan is also extending its reach through digital ecosystems to access workers in the burgeoning new economy sectors. Regarding the care aspect, the institution is working to improve service quality for participants, from basic services to the development of additional benefits beyond claims. The additional services mentioned include support for worker welfare, such as housing facilities and job placement programmes. “Credibility is about how we ensure good governance, management, and improved efficiency,” he said. Subsequently, Saiful highlighted that strengthening cyber security and data validation is a crucial part in maintaining participant trust and ensuring that programme management operates in accordance with applicable regulations. Through the 3C strategy, he stated, BPJS Ketenagakerjaan hopes to increase the scope of protection while reinforcing public confidence in Indonesia’s employment social security system.
