Jakarta (ANTARA) - BPJS Kesehatan is providing greater convenience for participants of the National Health Insurance (JKN) Programme through the Mobile JKN application, specifically for the online modification of primary healthcare facilities (FKTP).

“Registration for the Mobile JKN application only requires your NIK (National Identity Number). Afterwards, you simply select the ‘Participant Data Change’ menu and proceed to the FKTP change option. The system then displays a list of FKTPs based on the region you select. From there, I can determine my preferred FKTP and save the changes immediately,” said JKN participant Dian Patriawan in an official statement from BPJS Kesehatan received in Jakarta on Monday.

Dian Patriawan (69), a JKN participant from the Private Pensioner segment residing in Kalipuro District, Banyuwangi Regency, reported experiencing the direct benefits of the application after moving his domicile from Situbondo Regency to Banyuwangi.

Initially, Dian believed that the process of changing healthcare facilities would be time-consuming and involve complex administrative procedures, including the necessity of visiting an office in person and bringing various documents. However, after downloading the Mobile JKN application via the Play Store, he found the process to be practical and doable without needing to visit a service office.

Dian noted that FKTP changes requested through the application take effect on the 1st of the following month, while during the waiting period, participants can still access healthcare services at their previous facility. He also highlighted the principle of portability within the JKN Programme, which allows participants to access healthcare services outside their registered healthcare facility area.

“If I am out of town, I can still receive medical treatment without having to change my healthcare facility, subject to applicable regulations. This is very convenient, especially since I still occasionally travel to Situbondo Regency,” he said.

In addition to the FKTP change feature, Dian utilises the online queue registration service via the Mobile JKN application to manage his medical visits. “It is much easier now; there is no need to queue for a long time or arrive early in the morning to collect a queue number. I can register from home, selecting the preferred day, clinic, and doctor,” he added.

On the other hand, Dian warned the public to remain vigilant against fraudulent schemes impersonating BPJS Kesehatan, after he personally received suspicious calls from unknown numbers. “If anyone asks for data or money claiming to be from BPJS Kesehatan, please be careful. All administrative services at BPJS Kesehatan are free, whether provided in person or non-face-to-face,” he advised.

According to Dian, the presence of the JKN Programme helps participants reduce healthcare costs, and it is hoped that the public will utilise the available services optimally, including through the Mobile JKN application.
