Through the principle of gradual saving, participants are expected not to have to wait until near the due date to prepare the full premium payment.

Batam (ANTARA) - BPJS Kesehatan’s Batam branch in the Riau Islands is promoting the Saving for National Health Insurance Premiums Programme (NADI JKN) as an effort to help participants prepare their premium payments whilst keeping their JKN membership status active.

Head of BPJS Kesehatan Batam Branch, Harry Nurdiansyah, contacted in Batam on Monday, said the NADI JKN socialisation was being carried out through various service channels owned by BPJS Kesehatan, from social media, Direct Information Provision (PIL), BPJS Kesehatan Keliling, Virtual Online Services (VIOLA), to the Care Centre.

“For the NADI Programme, we are still preparing the payment system and infrastructure whilst beginning to socialise the NADI Programme through social media channels, PIL, BPJS Kesehatan Keliling, VIOLA, the Care Centre, and other channels,” said Harry.

He explained that the NADI JKN Programme is a mechanism that allows the public to prepare their health insurance premiums gradually through digital and conventional platforms before the payment deadline.

“NADI JKN is also one of the efforts to raise public awareness of maintaining the continuity of JKN membership,” he said.

Harry said that keeping membership active is important so that people can obtain the benefits of the JKN programme when they need healthcare services.

The NADI JKN Programme is primarily intended for PBPU participants, or informal sector workers whose incomes are not fixed, such as online motorcycle taxi drivers, traders, farmers, fishermen, and other informal workers.

Based on data from BPJS Kesehatan Batam, the target participants for NADI JKN include 159,997 active PBPU residents of Batam and 23,196 residents of Karimun, as well as 48,424 inactive participants in Karimun and 263,115 in Batam, together with participants with suspended premiums and those without JKN coverage.

Meanwhile, public education has begun so that prospective users understand the mechanism and benefits of NADI JKN before the programme is implemented more widely.

NADI JKN was launched by BPJS Kesehatan on 4 August 2026 and is one of the innovations to encourage participants to prepare their premium obligations more easily.

“Through the principle of gradual saving, participants are expected not to have to wait until near the due date to prepare the full premium payment,” said Harry.

BPJS Kesehatan also continues to encourage the public to understand the importance of keeping JKN membership active as part of long-term health protection.
