BPJS Kesehatan Participant Shares Story of Easy Medical Check-ups
The ease of the National Health Insurance Programme (JKN) has been experienced firsthand by Afifatul Munawwaroh (33), a resident of Silo Sub-district, Jember Regency. She was able to undergo treatment easily, quickly, and without worrying about costs.
Afifatul said the referral process from the First-Level Health Facility (FKTP) to hospital ran smoothly. After being examined by a doctor, she received a referral letter on the same day.
Clinic staff also explained the referral process clearly. This put Afifatul at greater ease when going through the administrative process and follow-up examinations.
“After receiving the referral, I immediately underwent examinations at the hospital. For around two to three weeks I underwent laboratory tests before the operation was scheduled. Every stage of the treatment was explained clearly and in detail, so I felt more at ease and encountered no obstacles during my care,” said Afifatul on Monday (29/06).
She admitted that she initially did not understand the JKN service process and assumed treatment had to be carried out directly at the hospital. After being examined at the FKTP and referred according to medical need, she instead found the service process easy, fast, and free of complications.
“At first I thought I had to go straight to the hospital for treatment. But after coming to the clinic, I received good care. When a referral was genuinely needed, the process was also fast and clear. I felt more at ease because I understood how the service worked,” she explained.
Afifatul felt reassured because the entire treatment process and follow-up care at the hospital could be undertaken at no cost, in accordance with JKN programme rules. She attended regular check-ups according to her doctor’s schedule, starting one week, then two weeks, up to a month after the procedure. According to her, all of these services ran smoothly.
“Besides not having to think about costs, I also greatly appreciated the friendliness of the doctors and nurses during my treatment. I did not feel any difference in treatment compared to other patients. All patients received equally good care,” Afifatul added.
Afifatul’s health has now recovered. She is once again able to carry out her usual activities and look after her family. After experiencing the ease of the service during her treatment, she expressed her gratitude to BPJS Kesehatan as the administrator of the JKN programme.
