The President Director of the Social Security Administering Body for Health (BPJS Kesehatan), Retired Major General Prihati Pujowaskito, has stressed that the updating of National Health Insurance (JKN) participant data must be carried out regularly every month. He stated that this step is part of efforts to ensure the accurate targeting of contribution assistance (PBI) recipients while improving the quality of services for the public.

The statement was made by Prihati during the launch of ‘Layanan di Ujung Negeri’ (LANURI) and the closing of the Quick Wins for the first 100 days of the BPJS Kesehatan Board of Directors at the BPJS Kesehatan Head Office in Jakarta on Monday (13/7/2026). According to him, the data updating process remains an ongoing task, including the reactivation of data that has not yet been updated.

‘So, this data updating must be done by us every month, periodically,’ Pujo said.

Pujo explained that the data updating is carried out in collaboration with the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) and the Ministry of Social Affairs (Kemensos). BPJS Kesehatan also monitors data changes resulting from participant deaths or new births to ensure the accuracy of the JKN participant database.

‘The main responsibility lies with BPS and the Ministry of Social Affairs, while BPJS Kesehatan primarily monitors deaths and births so that the data is always updated. Specifically, the data from the Ministry of Social Affairs concerns those who are eligible or entitled to receive PBI,’ he stated.
