BPJS Kesehatan Ensures JKN Services Continue in Aceh Tamiang Following Floods
The President Director of BPJS Kesehatan, Prihati Pujowaskito (Pujo), has assured that healthcare facilities in Aceh Tamiang will continue to provide services to JKN participants without interruption following the recent floods in North Sumatra and Aceh. During the recovery period, BPJS Kesehatan is focused on maintaining access to services to ensure that participants continue to receive care without administrative or financial obstacles, especially given the vulnerable state of the community.
Pujo emphasized that they are ensuring that healthcare services are provided easily and equitably to all JKN participants.
“To provide the best possible service, strong collaboration is essential. Together with healthcare facilities, we are ensuring that services to participants can be provided easily, quickly, and equitably. If there are emergency cases in healthcare facilities, they must be addressed immediately because this concerns the safety of patients,” she said in a written statement on Thursday (February 26, 2026).
She added that services for JKN participants in Aceh Tamiang have now returned to normal. She also appreciated the ongoing recovery efforts, even though some supporting facilities and infrastructure are still affected by the floods and are in the process of being repaired.
“We are also strengthening coordination with the local government and healthcare facilities to ensure that services remain available, emergency care can be provided quickly, and participants can continue to access JKN services without obstacles,” she added.
Meanwhile, the Chairman of the BPJS Kesehatan Supervisory Board, Stevanus Adrianto Passat, said that this visit is a form of rapid response to ensure that services for participants continue to run optimally in disaster-affected areas. In line with these efforts, BPJS Kesehatan is also providing mobile BPJS services in temporary housing, an initiative by President Prabowo Subianto, to make it easier for participants to manage administration and access healthcare services.
“In addition to maintaining the active status of JKN membership, maintaining health is equally important. Therefore, we encourage the public to adopt healthy lifestyles through the consumption of nutritious food and adequate rest as a form of early prevention,” said Stevanus.
Furthermore, the Acting Regional Secretary of Aceh Tamiang, Syuibun Anwar, emphasized that public health should not be neglected, especially in the post-disaster recovery period. According to him, challenges in the health sector will continue to be faced, so synergy between BPJS Kesehatan and related departments is needed to ensure that people in temporary housing remain protected under the JKN program.
He also said that the local government is committed to accelerating public health and encouraging residents in temporary housing to utilize their JKN membership to access healthcare services.
“Hopefully, the visit by the President Director and the Chairman of the Supervisory Board today can provide real solutions to various administrative obstacles. With the spirit of mutual cooperation, we pray that the community in temporary housing will soon recover and return to good health,” he concluded.
