To strengthen service quality and increase proximity with participants, BPJS Kesehatan has introduced the ‘BPJS Menyapa’ programme. ‘BPJS Menyapa’ serves as a platform to absorb aspirations and provide rapid responses for participants in the National Health Insurance (JKN) programme.

The programme was carried out at SMAN 8 Jakarta as part of the 100-day Quick Wins of the BPJS Kesehatan Directorate for 2026 through the Responsive and Solution-Oriented Initiative.

Director of Health Service Guarantee at BPJS Kesehatan, Abdi Kurniawan Purba, stated that the programme is designed to reinforce their presence among participants through direct field interactions.

“Through ‘BPJS Menyapa’, we aim to ensure that every input and complaint from participants is not merely recorded but followed up quickly and effectively. We are here to listen and resolve,” said Abdi in a written statement on Tuesday (21/4/2026).

He explained that the ‘BPJS Menyapa’ activities are conducted through direct visits to participants and stakeholders to obtain feedback on JKN services, absorb aspirations in a structured manner, and provide education related to the programme.

“This approach allows us to capture real field conditions, ensuring that every response given is targeted and has a direct impact on participants,” Abdi added.

Abdi noted that selecting a school environment, such as SMAN 8 Jakarta, is part of BPJS Kesehatan’s strategy to reach the younger generation early on.

In addition to being potential participants, students are seen as agents of change who can promote understanding among their families and surroundings about the importance of the JKN programme.

To boost literacy, BPJS Kesehatan involves Young Ambassadors of BPJS Kesehatan as the frontline in disseminating JKN information in the school environment.

Their presence is expected to help students understand JKN in a closer and more accessible way.

“We want to instil early understanding that the JKN programme is a shared responsibility. The younger generation plays a crucial role in sustaining this programme, starting from their immediate surroundings,” said Abdi.

Deputy Head of SMAN 8 Jakarta for Facilities and Infrastructure, Gatot Handoko, welcomed the implementation of ‘BPJS Menyapa’ as an effort to provide students with early understanding of the importance of the JKN programme.

Handoko views this activity not only as adding to students’ knowledge beyond the curriculum but also as shaping their social awareness and responsibility as the younger generation towards the national health programme.

Moreover, this activity is expected to equip students to contribute to realising an excellent generation towards Golden Indonesia.

“We refer to our students as the golden generation. It is hoped that with this title, it becomes a prayer for our students to become the golden generation that can help realise Golden Indonesia in 2045,” he concluded.
