BPJS Kesehatan educates the Kepri Police Department regarding the benefits of the National Health Insurance Programme
Batam (ANTARA) - BPJS Kesehatan, Regional Division II, has provided information to the Kepulauan Riau (Kepri) Police Department regarding the National Health Insurance (JKN) programme, and conducted mass Pap smear screenings for female police officers and members of the Bhayangkari association.
“The main strength of the JKN is that it provides protection before health risks turn into a financial burden for individuals and their families. The Polri (Indonesian National Police) protects the public from security risks, while the JKN protects against health and financial risks due to illness. Our goal is the same, namely to provide peace of mind for the public,” said Deputy Director of Regional Division II (West Sumatra, Riau, Kepri, Jambi) of BPJS Kesehatan, Nopi Hidayat, in an official statement in Batam, Thursday.
BPJS Kesehatan held a series of activities within the Kepri Police Department, including providing direct information (PIL) about the JKN programme, conducting health history screenings for Polri personnel and their families, and conducting mass Pap smear screenings for female police officers and Bhayangkari members.
In addition, they presented certificates of appreciation for the collaboration between the Chief of the Kepri Police and the heads of the main departments.
“This understanding is considered crucial to provide peace of mind for personnel who are on duty in the field. When a Polri member focuses on serving to maintain security and public order, the certainty that their family at home is protected by the JKN becomes their main source of strength,” said Nopi.
On this occasion, the Chief of the Kepri Police, Inspector General of Police Asep Safrudin, affirmed his commitment to fully supporting the JKN programme initiated by BPJS Kesehatan.
“We understand how important access to healthcare is for the community, and we are ready to help BPJS Kesehatan in expanding coverage and increasing the number of active participants,” he said.
“We want to see every citizen no longer have difficulty accessing health services, especially in emergency situations. Therefore, this synergy is very important so that the JKN programme can reach all levels of society, including those in remote areas,” he said.
Furthermore, Nopi said that promotional and preventive measures would maintain the readiness, resilience, and productivity of Polri personnel. He said that risk factors for disease must be detected early before developing into chronic conditions.
“Through the integration of health insurance services and the strengthening of synergy between agencies, BPJS Kesehatan Regional Division II and the Kepri Police Department hope to continue building a healthy culture and realize a productive, safe, and prosperous community in the Riau Islands,” said Nopi.
